Our Story

In 1994, Scott Gage packed his tree climbing gear, hooked up his stump grinder, and set out for the Last Frontier. An avid outdoorsman, he had dreamed of Alaska since he was a kid. Arriving with 300 bucks in his pocket, he started looking for dead trees and stumps, knocking on doors to get work. By giving good prices and taking pride in workmanship, business took off!

Twenty-five years later, Gage Tree Service has grown from a one-person operation to a team of about 30 great employees, expanding services and, in 2009, adding a second location in Wasilla to better serve the needs of the community.

Scott, a certified, second-generation arborist, actively manages day-to-day operations alongside our team of arborists. As winter approaches, our focus shifts from arboriculture to holiday lighting and winter services, providing you service year-round to meet your needs.
